MICHAEL COTTER
Director. BEng, CEng, MIChemE, EurEng
Michael is a founding director and shareholding partner of the Pacific Process Group. He is Managing Director of Pacific Process Group of companies in NZ, Australia, and North America.
He is professional engineer, specialising in Food and Dairy processing technologies with a BEng (Chemical and Materials), a Diploma in Dairy Science and Technology from Massey University and a NZCS in Chemistry. Mike has active memberships with IChemE, Institute of Directors and NZ Institute of Food Science and Technology.
His strong, strategic project leadership has been refined through 30 years’ experience in manufacturing and contracting for the demanding food, beverage, pharmaceutical and dairy industries. Prior to setting up Pacific Process, Mike held senior positions with NZ Dairy Board, Fisons Pharmaceuticals, AMEC, Nalco, Ashton Project Services and Tetra Pak (NZ).
Michael has driven through a diverse and challenging range of capital projects from conceptual design to completion. He combines his enthusiasm for new technology with astute people management and real-world supply chain experience to deliver innovative and practical project solutions with a quantifiable return on investment. Mike goes to extraordinary lengths to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. Long-term client relationships are a hallmark of Mike’s career with Pacific Process, having worked successfully with some of our clients for more than ten years.
ANDREW SMITH
Director
With a background and qualifications in electrical and automation engineering, and other middle and senior management roles with a multinational process engineering company (Tetra Pak), Andrew has been able to accumulate over thirty five years experience within the dairy and other food process engineering industries.
In 2005, Andrew became a founding director of Pacific Process, where his food industry experience grew to include beverage production, bakeries, confectionary (jelly based & chocolate), wineries, breweries, and water purification.
Today, he combines his extensive dairy and food processing knowledge with his outstanding project and business management skills to bring Pacific Process customers well-rounded and strategic business and process plant solutions. This combined expertise offers Pacific Process customers the complete 'turnkey' engineering and management package. Andrew’s ability to develop project tools and systems combined with his exacting high standards are also reasons he is in demand by leading food and dairy producers around the world.
CHRIS SCHEIDT
US President of PPCI
Chris is based in the United States and is the President of Pacific Process Construction Incorporated, and General Manager of operations for Pacific Process US Incorporated.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota and completed a year of engineering course work at The University of Melbourne in Australia. He also holds executive courses in engineering specialties, people and commercial management. Chris has previously held positions ranging from Environmental Engineer, Project Manager, to Director of Engineering for the Land O’Lakes organisation. This has given Chris significant exposure and experience with a vast array of technology options and processes across the dairy and stock feed industries. Chris has developed high level skills in project development, budgeting, cost tracking, equipment procurement, plant and process design, contracts, projects administration, and project management, as well as plant operations, and business management.
MARK ABURROW
Director (Australia)
Mark holds a bachelor in Applied Science Biology and a post graduate Diploma in Computer Studies from Latrobe University and a diploma in packaging technology from Cambridge University.
Mark also holds many industry certifications ranging from operational Excellence lean manufacturing from CCI, Quality testing and Compliance, Production skills with Nestle college in Pakistan and Malaysia and Milk technology course at Nestle Global Technical Centre, Konolfingen Switzerland. He has filled roles ranging from plant operations, production management, process optimization leader, factory manager to export QA and technical manager for Nestle. Mark has also worked as a factory manager in the large-scale foodservice and catering industry, also in technical and management roles for Fonterra, and as a franchisee with Lenard’s poultry.
He is now specializing in project management, process optimization, high level compliance and quality assurance. Mark has delivered technical presentations to industry trade associations on hygienic building and process design and is responsible a broad range of project implementation initiatives throughout North America.
SCOTT COLES
Chief Financial Officer
MBA qualified Chartered Accountant, Scott has a wealth of experience managing operational teams and business partnering that has delivered stakeholder value through on-going improvements to efficiency and effectiveness. Having worked globally for a number of large international consulting and financial institutions (Aon New Zealand, AIA New Zealand, BNZ, Acxiom) as well as commercial and residential construction firms (Fletcher Building, Finesse Residential) and publishing firms (Harper Collins, Guardian Newspaper), Scott has held roles such as Senior Business Analyst, Financial Controller, Finance Business Partner, Fund Accounting Manager and Management Accountant cementing his abilities in strategic leadership, project management and fiscal management.
Scott is part of the Pacific Process executive management group working closely with the Financial and Accounting team. Scott with responsibility for the Pacific Process Group Insurances, Budgets, Cash Flow and Financial reporting and a primary focus on the North American business to establish systems, set KPIs and the identification of opportunities relating to cost savings, financial management and improvements to our customer service.
