Andrew Smith

With a background and qualifications in electrical and automation engineering, Andrew possesses 25 years’ experience within the dairy & food process engineering industries.
His 13 years at Tetra Pak NZ Limited saw him involved in the design and implementation of electrical & automation systems for a wide variety of process projects. He rose through the ranks quickly into process engineering, project management and to eventually become Plant Engineering Manager for Tetra Pak NZ for five years.
Andrew was responsible for a team of 15 project managers, engineers and contractors implementing up to 25 simultaneous projects with an estimated annual value of NZ$50 million. Along the way, he developed his expertise in all aspects of dairy and general food process engineering, and in particular membrane filtration technology – covering microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis plants.
In 2005, Andrew became a founding director of Pacific Process. Today, he combines his extensive dairy & food processing knowledge with his outstanding project management and implementation skills.
